Girindus to Produce Antiviral Treatment for Canada's Replicor
Nov. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Girindus AG, a German maker of drug ingredients, said it agreed to produce an antiviral treatment for Canadian biotechnology company Replicor Inc. for clinical trials.
Girindus will produce the drug, called REP 9, at its plant in Cincinnati, the Bensberg, Germany-based company said in a statement to the Frankfurt exchange.
REP 9 is an oligonucleotide drug that aims to tackle viruses including HIV, Hepatitis B, Herpes and Ebola, Girindus said. Replicor is based in Laval in the province of Quebec, the company added.
Girindus shares rose 12 cents, or 3.2 percent, to 3.82 euros as of 11:13 a.m. in Frankfurt.
