REPLICor to disclose interim REP 9AC clinical efficacy data in patients with chronic hepatitis B at the 62nd annual meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD 2011)

Montreal, Quebec – Friday, Oct 27, 2011 – REPLICor will disclose updated interim results from its proof of concept clinical trial at the 62nd annual meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD 2011) to be held Nov 4-8, 2011.  This is the largest annual meeting dedicated to treatment of liver disease which typically attracts thousands of physicians and researchers. This trial is examining the safety and efficacy of REP 9AC in human patients with chronic hepatitis B (HBV).

REP 9AC represents a new class of antiviral agent that blocks the release of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) which has been associated with HBV-specific immune defects and may contribute to the long term persistence of HBV infection in the liver. REP 9AC has been previously shown to rapidly clear HBsAg in the serum of patients infected with HBV and appears to allow these patients to regain effective immunological control over their infection, resulting in sustained virologic responses after only 5-6 months of treatment.  REPLICor will present updated clinical efficacy results in an oral presentation on Tuesday Nov 8, 2011.
